About
A workshop on ecologically-based small woodlands management in south King County! Join Kirk Hanson, Northwest Natural Resource Group's Director of Forestry, for a tour of his family's Black Diamond Forest to learn about ecologically-based forest management practices aimed at improving climate resilience, forest health, wildlife habitat, and timber productivity. Since 2014, Kirk has been working to transition a former industrial Douglas-fir plantation to a species and structurally diverse forest that provides improved ecosystem functions and long-term, sustained timber production.
